#### Purpose and Procedure

This task is the first in a series where you ask students to pick the vowel sound that belongs in a word based on the word's CVCe or CVC structure (that is, whether the word does or does not have a silent *e* at the end).

#### Correcting the Student

The following is the correction text to use if a student struggles when asked to pick which sound goes into a CVC word:
