Students read *-y* derivatives, but this time they do not see equations showing their base words and endings.

## 194.5 Word Parts

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task continues to have students point to word parts they recognize in six words. This is the first time they need to point to three word parts in one word: *ex-*, *-tion*, and *-al* in *exceptional*.
