## 30.3 Rhyming

#### Purpose and Procedure

In this task, the onsets are /d/, /th/, and /r/. All words will rhyme with /ā/.

## 30.4 Word Reading

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task introduces reading words with initial quick sounds that are voiced, like *dad*.

The script for the first word in this task is different from the script for the rest of the words. Make sure to follow it carefully to continue to support students as they learn to read words that begin with quick sounds.

## 30.8 Decodables

#### Purpose and Procedure

This is the first time you give students a decodable booklet for completing a cycle. You will give students a booklet for every cycle they complete from now on.

The booklet that is revealed in the student pane is the booklet that corresponds with that cycle and is the one that you should give to the student. The correct cycle number is located on the front of each booklet.

Remember, these booklets are for the students to take with them to read either in the classroom with their teacher's permission and at home with their families. Therefore, you should only give students their booklet (or booklets, if they complete more than one cycle in one session) at the end of your time together for that day.
