# Cycle 160

## 160.1 Letter Combinations

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task requires students to read multisyllabic words containing the *oy* or *oi* letter combination. Students are not asked to identify the letter combination or its sound before reading the word.

## 160.4 Patterns

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task again asks students to read derivatives of -VC and -VCe base words that are NOT minimally different pairs. This time, the derivatives have *-er* and *-ed* suffixes. At this stage, students are still asked to read the underlined base word before reading the full derivative.

## 160.7 Word Parts

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task introduces five beginnings that all mean "not": *un-*, *non-*, *in-*, *im-*, and *dis-*.

Students only touch and repeat words in this cycle.
