# Cycle 182

## 182.2 Patterns

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task continues to teach students to read words that are formed by adding an -*er*, -*ed*, -*s*, or -*est* ending to base words that end in -*y*.

In this cycle, students are presented with base words and endings in an equation and they see how the *-y* changes when the ending is added. They read both the base word and the word after the ending is added.

## 182.4 Story Reading

#### Purpose and Procedure

This is the first task in which the *ue* letter combination appears in story text (underlined for now).

## 182.5 Word Parts

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task introduces students to the *-ture* ending.
