## 71.2 Patterns

#### Purpose and Procedure

This is the first time you will teach a new type of task called *Patterns* which is about structural analysis (teaching students to identify and read various types of patterns that exist within words).

In this cycle, this task gives students more practice with reading words in a serif font when the words have double letters that each make a continuous sound.

## 71.3 Irregulars

#### Purpose and Procedure

This is the first time students read these two irregular words in a serif font instead of the specialized orthography.
