46.3 Word Reading

Purpose and Procedure

This task introduces the fact that the word a can be pronounced in two acceptable ways: /ā/ and /ǝ/.

It also introduces reading a word (eats) that ends with a consonant blend composed of a quick sound followed by a continuous sound.

The final part of this task introduces reading words with small, unpronounced characters when there are no symbols beneath the words.
