# Cycle 149

## 149.1 Letter Combinations

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task requires students to read simple words containing the *oa* or *ow* letter combination after they identify the letter combination and its sound.

## 149.7 Word Parts

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task continues the series that introduces students to three beginnings (*pre-*, *post-*, and *re-*) and their meanings. This time, students touch and read the beginnings after you say them.

Note that in this task, *pre-* is pronounced /prē/ and *re-* is pronounced /rē/ (rather than being pronounced with schwa sounds) because they are accented syllables.

The words in this task all begin with *post-.*
