This task returns to segmenting and blending words that have initial and final consonant blends and that begin and end with stop phonemes. This time, however, the instructor will not tell students any of the words before saying them slowly, and the instructor will not say them slowly with the students before students try on their own.
This is the first task in which students read a word with consecutive stop phonemes: act.
This task introduces reading words with stop phonemes when there are no symbols beneath the words.
