## 133.4 Patterns

#### Purpose and Procedure

This task introduces -VCe words with endings that start with consonants (*-ment*, *-ly*, *-ness*, *‑ful*, *‑less*).

After introducing students to these five endings, you will say and have the students repeat a base word. You will then point to an ending without saying it and ask students to say the base word with that ending.&#x20;
