This task introduces the fact that a final d is sometimes pronounced /t/ (when an unvoiced sound comes before it), like in the word tricked.
The words sees and digs each have a final s that makes a voiced /z/ sound.
The final part of this task introduces reading words sub-vocally when they have quick sounds in them.
Ensure that students stay silent when reading the words in their heads, and ensure that students touch under the words both when reading them silently and when saying them fast.
